Hong Kong tourbillon brand Memorigin has invited Dr. Shirley Yeung, the Associate Vice-President of the UNESCO, who is also a yoga instructor, to collaborate on the design of the “Flow with Yoga Tourbillon Watch”. It aims to promote how yoga deepens our understanding of the mind-body connection.

Many of us tend to neglect the feelings of our mind and body due to busy work and daily trivial matters. Yoga achieves quieting a busy mind through a holistic and mindful practice that includes physical movements and meditation. They provide a good opportunity for you to listen to your inner self, which results in stress reduction. Dr. Yeung learned to reflect on her life from yoga. The hectic pace of city life is overwhelming, making it more necessary to learn how to enjoy life in the slow lane. Life is just like the streaming water, if we let things work on their own, we will find our happiness eventually.

The dial design of the watch incorporates multiple yoga elements. The wavy lines thereon represent the peaceful mood while doing yoga, as the motto goes "follow the flow"! The circle at the center embodies the concepts of “mandala” and “water lily”, both of which are symbols of yoga. Mandala is considered to be a symbol of the universe, bringing balance, harmony, and unity. In other words, it strengthens your mind. Water lilies represent the development of the mind and have the meaning of rebirth and enlightenment. Everything in the world revolves around a concentric circle. The yoga sculpture on the circle resembles how we are surrounded by various groups of people. Numeral scales are not placed on the dial so that the wearer can let go of the constraints of time.

The designer used the silver dial to match with a sky-blue strap, representing the joy of harmony brought by the connection between humans and nature. There are wave patterns embossed on the strap, showing how such a connection can make your ideas flood in like flowing water. Memorigin has selected a manual-winding tourbillon movement with a 40-hour power reserve and a vibration frequency of 28,800 oscillations per hour for this watch. The wearer can always be reminded that yoga is about mindfulness while appreciating the elegant tourbillon rotation.
