The starry night is always where humans exceed their limits of imagination. In ancient Greek mythology, the 12 constellations were ruled by a different star at different times of a year. The interesting stories behind them add more romance to the night sky. Jin Ling, the Greater China Regional Director of Memorigin and the "Golden Hammer" auctioneer, received launched much support and appreciation with the launch of her ‘Evolving Butterfly’ series last year. This year, she established a luxury brand ‘J’ADORE-LA LUMIERE’. Inspired by the ancient Greek myths on astronomy, Jin Ling designed 12 tourbillon watches for the brand’s first series, Twelve Constellations. Utilizing the craftmanship of diamond embedment and embossment, the brand is launching the first artistic timepiece representing Jin Ling’s horoscope in the series, Sagittarius (23rd November to 21st December).
Sagittarius has a star pattern that looks like an archer holding a bow and an arrow. In the myth, the archer is half human and half horse. The brand makes use of the delicate metal embossing technique to create a vivid image of the archer pointing to the starry night with his arrow.
Green, as the representative color of Sagittarius, is the main color tone of the watch. Being placed on the green plaid mother-of-pearl dial, the embossment of the archer gives plentiful layers to the watch. The ‘stars’ indices at the 11 and 12 o’clock positions represent how Sagittarius lies across November and December. While the window of the rotating tourbillon movement is placed at the 8 o’clock position, there are decorative diamonds surrounding it to form a crescent. The watch case is also embedded with shiny diamonds to imitate the starry sky. With the lugs being designed in cloud shape, the watch becomes more romantic than it seems. Matching these glittery diamonds with the alligator strap gives the watch a sense of elegance.
The brand specially chooses a tourbillon movement with a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and a 50-hour power reserve, providing great flexibility. Its manual winding function gives a lot of fun, but it can also be automatically wound to bring you more convenience.
The Twelve Constellations: Sagittarius is the first product of J’ADORE-LA LUMIERE. The other constellations in the series will be launched in succession. Please look forward to the brand’s updates.
